CSR Committee / Management

At a growing organization, SREI is committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Its social accountability has been reflecting in its on-going activities.

To conform to the compliance norms as stated in the statutory guidelines, the Board has constituted the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee of the Company.


Hemant Kanoria, Chairman and Managing Director as Chairman of the Committee

With over 34 years of experience in industry, trade and financial services, he has held the position of Chairman of FICCI National Committee on Infrastructure and is presently Council Member of Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. He has been on the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) - Kolkata, was a Member of Regional Direct Taxes Advisory Committee, Government of India and had served as President of Calcutta Chamber of Commerce.

Sunil Kanoria, Non-Executive Director

He is a Chartered Accountant with more than 26 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is presently the Senior Vice President of The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), Member of the Central Direct Taxes Advisory Committee and the Governing body member of the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC).

Shyamalendu Chatterjee, Non-Executive and Independent Director

A seasoned professional, he has over 45 years of experience in Retail, Commercial, Investment Banking and NBFC. Associated with the State Bank of India for 26 years, he has extensive exposure in the area of International Banking at SBI, London and as the Chief Representative in Washington DC having worked closely with IFC, World Bank and IMF. He was the Executive Director with Axis Bank (formerly UTI Bank) wherein he was instrumental in developing the bank's business model and strong business processes enabling it to evolve into a leading player in the industry. He has been associated with Srei in various capacities for developing business, audit, compliance, HR & IT processes as well as risk management. In addition, he has also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Nabil Bank, Nepal.

Madhusudan Dutta, as Secretary to the Committee

With over 30 years of experience in Human Resource Development and Management, Madhusudan is now enjoying his second stint with Srei. He has in the past worked with Srei for short term of 15 months before he joined Quippo as Head HR in 2006.
He has completed his PGDBM from IISWBM, University of Calcutta and has also studied law from the Calcutta University. Formally trained in psychometric tools and mentoring Madhusudan has worked extensively with leading global consultants in transforming and changing management processes.
At Seri Madhusudan's key contributions have been to introduce innovative approaches in recruitment, orientation, organizational development initiatives, PMS, training and development.
At the time of his joining Quippo, the company was at a nascent stage and Madhusudan played a key role in streamlining HR practices of all strategic businesses of the company that later merged with Tata Telecom. During the initial phase of the merger, he was a member of the Tata-Quippo TMC team overseeing the integration. Prior to Srei and Quippo, he has worked with leading FMCG and health care companies like Glaxo and Dabur.
