Viom Networks, a joint venture between Tata Teleservices and Quippo - a Srei Group Enterprise, is the pioneer in the Shared Passive Telecom Infrastructure industry in India. It was established with a mission to provide innovative shared telecom infrastructure solutions, by leveraging world-class technologies to all telecom service providers.
Viom Networks today is the world’s largest independent telecom infrastructure company, having pioneered the concept of telecom infrastructure sharing with less than 100 towers in 2005. With the highest tenancy of over 2.4x per tower, we are the strongest player in neutral host shared In-Building Communication Solutions (IBS).
Today, we have a portfolio of over 40,432 towers across all 22 telecom circles in India.
About Viom Networks
In 2009, Quippo Telecom Infrastructure Limited (QTIL) entered into a partnership with Tata Teleservices Ltd. (TTSL) with the merger of their passive infrastructure businesses, creating Viom Networks. Further strengthening its leadership position, Viom acquired the tower arm of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited in early 2010. With innovation and customer centricity as the core business strategy, we have set precedents and developed innovative and cost effective solutions for telecom operators. These shared solutions help telecom operators save costs through reduced capex and opex, and at the same time, roll - out services faster. Innovative solutions such as IBS and BTS Hotels continue to further strengthen the product portfolio of Viom Networks.
As a responsible industry leader, Viom Networks has undertaken various initiatives to conserve energy and the environment. R&D investments to tap alternate energy sources like solar energy, fuel cells, fuel saver catalysts and CNG have resulted in cost benefits to our operator partners. As a result, we are the first telecom infrastructure company in India to receive the coveted ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications for successfully implementing and incorporating international standards in Environment Management System (EMS) and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSAS) initiatives.
Our vision is to be the ‘Most Admired Telecom Infrastructure Company' globally. We continue to receive strong support from reputed investors such as IDFC Private Equity, Macquarie SBI Infrastructure Fund, GIC Singapore (A Singapore Government enterprise), Oman Investment Fund (OIF) - an investment arm of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, Roaring Investments, Geraldton Finance and AMP Capital.
