Sahaj e-Village Limited
Sahaj e-Village Limited, a venture initiative of Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited, is aimed at bridging the digital divide between urban and rural India. As a part of the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) of the Government of India, 100,000 Common Service Centres (CSC) were to be set up across the rural sector of India in the year 2006 which was further revised to 2, 50,000 CSCs in 2009.
Sahaj has a mandate of setting up over 28,000 CSCs in Assam, Bihar, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. A CSC is a chief physical delivery point for all e-governance, e-learning and B2C services for the rural population facilitated by a Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE). CSCs offer a host of G2C and B2C services on an ICT platform. Today, we have established an identity of our own in rural India by successfully rolling out 24,730 CSCs across the six states.
The services being offered include various G2C facilities for basic day to day requirements like Government form submission, Internet access, applications for death and birth certificates, electricity bill, BSNL bill and LIC premium collection, mobile top-ups, railway reservations, and gas booking along with B2B, B2C and e-learning services all under one roof.
Sahaj has also tied up with major service providers for offering B2C services like e-Learning courses, skill development vocational programs, life insurance, matrimonial services, and jobs through its employment portal - Chaakri.co.in
